Seasons of Change at Lake Life Cottages®
If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the last few years, it’s that spring is our season of transformation here at Lake Life Cottages®. Each year, as the snow melts and the bay begins to shimmer again, something beautiful takes shape across our property—and in our story.
It all started in September of 2021, when we purchased the land and began dreaming big. We locked in our name—Lake Life Cottages®—after some careful research (yes, we checked federal trademarks, domain names, and social media handles) and began marketing what would soon become a first-of-its-kind luxury resort on Tawas Bay.
Spring 2022 marked the biggest transformation in Lake Life Cottages history—our vision came to life as the entire shoreline was reshaped for better water access, and all 15 cottages were completed.
Then came Spring 2022, our very first season of change. We watched the final building come down and felt the excitement build as construction officially began. The vision of beachfront luxury on Lake Huron was finally becoming reality.
In 2023, we laid the groundwork—literally. All major underground infrastructure was completed, including water, sewer, gas, and electric. Sidewalks and parking took shape, an the Beach Barn was finished, becoming the heart of the property for gatherings, wedding, and unforgettable lakefront moments.
By Spring 2023, transformation was in full bloom. Our Beach Barn—once a humble structure—was reborn as a beautifully elegant lakeside wedding venue. That summer, we wrapped up the sidewalks, installed dreamy beach fire pits, and brought our landscaping to life. In September 2023, we proudly received our occupancy permit and welcomed our very first guests.
Spring 2024 kicked off with a milestone—our first wedding! We proudly opened for the season as the Tawas area’s premier lakefront wedding destination, setting the stage for unforgettable “I do’s” by the water.
Spring of 2024 marked yet another major milestone: our first wedding. Lake Life Cottages officially became a Northern Michigan wedding destination. Brides and grooms brought their loved ones to the shore, and we welcomed back families who hadn’t visited Tawas in decades. The joy and celebration filled every corner of our property
And now, Spring 2025, we find ourselves transforming once again. We’ve completed our spring cleanup and are gearing up for a packed season—full of new guests, returning families, and a full lineup of beach weddings. But that’s not all…
We are thrilled to announce that Lake Life Cottages® is now officially licensed to serve alcohol! That means:
• Romance packages are coming for couples looking for the perfect lakeside getaway.
• Beginning in July we’ll be open to the public Monday through Wednesday evenings for drinks and light bites on the shores of Lake Huron—yes, that’s right, sunsets and sips are officially a thing.
• And for our wedding parties, we’re making things easier with custom drink packages for your big day.
Every year, spring breathes new life into our property—and every year, we grow a little more. We’re so proud of how far Lake Life Cottages® has come and can’t wait to see where the next season leads.
